The empty tomb of Jesus with the stone rolled away, symbolizing the resurrection.
Published April 20, 2025

Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen.

Why is it important to accept Jesus Christ into our hearts?

Luke 24:5–6

This question, spoken by the angel at the empty tomb, echoes every year at Easter. But do we truly grasp the depth of this seemingly simple question?

The disciples and the women were looking for Jesus – but among the dead. In a place where He no longer was. But Jesus is alive, and that living reality changes everything! Not only two thousand years ago – but even now.

The resurrection is not just a historical event. The resurrection is a promise, a living hope given to those who believe in Him:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

(1 Peter 1:3)

Before Jesus ascended to Heaven, He told His disciples:

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.”

(John 16:7)

This Comforter is none other than the Holy Ghost, whom believers today can still receive. He is the one who strengthens us, encourages us, brings Jesus’ words to remembrance, leads us, teaches us, and empowers us daily.

Jesus did not leave us alone. The proof of His resurrection is not only the empty tomb, but the living and active Holy Spirit dwelling within us. And this Spirit we received is not a spirit of fear, but:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

(2 Timothy 1:7)

So if Jesus is risen and alive, that means His power is also alive within us.

Jesus said:

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

(Luke 10:19)

This is not symbolic language – this is a spiritual reality. We have been given authority in the name of Jesus – authority to resist temptation, depression, sickness, fear, and demonic oppression.

And Jesus also said:

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

(Mark 16:17–18)

This is the power of the resurrection – not just eternal life at the end of our earthly journey, but a power that is present here and now. The believer doesn’t merely survive – he overcomes, for Christ lives in him!

And more than that – Jesus didn’t only say we would act with Him – He said:

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

(John 14:12)

This is astonishing if we think about it. Greater works? Yes! But not by our strength, rather through Him, by the Holy Spirit. This is the greatest power in the Easter message: Jesus did not remain in the tomb, but He lives in us!

That’s why Paul also writes:

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

(Romans 8:11)

My brother or sister, perhaps today you are facing pain, challenges, or uncertainty. But don’t forget: your Lord is alive! And if He lives, then your hope is not dead.

Do not seek the living among the dead anymore. Rise up, and walk in the power of the resurrection, because Jesus is not only coming back — He is already at work in those who believe.

Let us be strengthened by this final Word:

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

(1 John 5:4)

Let me share 3 Scriptures that help us better understand the importance of receiving Jesus and its inevitability.

Romans 10:8 – 10

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

If you’re reading this today and you want to be with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in eternity, know that this verse shows you how to do it. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. In the following sections, I will guide you through how to confess all of this before our Father and our Lord Jesus.

Read this prayer out loud with faith in your heart, for what is written there is faithful and true.

John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. These are the words of Jesus.

You can be born again as the Bible teaches: you need to confess

your faith. After you have been born again, say this short but very important prayer

with your loved ones, relatives, friends, and all those who believe in Jesus Christ. Because to be born again, we must confess our faith. This is what the next section is about.

Prayer for Salvation.

I believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

I believe that Jesus died for my sins,

according to the teachings of the Bible.

I believe that Jesus rose from the dead,

for my justification.

Please, Jesus, be my Lord!

Please, Jesus, be my Savior!

Please, Jesus, be my Healer!

Jesus, You are my Lord.

Jesus, You are my Savior.

Jesus, You are my Healer.

I am redeemed. I am born again in Christ.

His holy blood has cleansed me from all sins.

This is the truth, for the Word of God is truth.

Thank you, dear Jesus. Amen.

For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Matthew 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
