Divine Providence – How God Guides and Cares for Our Lives
Why is it important to accept Jesus Christ into our hearts?
When I began reading the Bible and came to Joshua 1:9, I felt a deep connection with this passage. I could sense the weight of the responsibility that Joshua had received from God.
God entrusted him with no small task: he was to lead the chosen people into the land flowing with milk and honey, the land of Canaan. After the death of Moses, Joshua became the leader of Israel. This alone was an enormous responsibility, but there were also the nations and kings who certainly would not willingly give up their lands.
In this situation God said to Joshua:
Joshua 1:9
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
This verse was not only encouragement for Joshua, but also a promise: God does not only give a task, He also walks with those whom He calls.
Solomon’s Humility and God’s Gift
Joshua was not the only one who felt the weight of a responsibility given by God. We see a similar humility in the life of King Solomon.
1 Kings 3:7–9
“And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad.”
Solomon did not ask for wealth, long life, or power. Instead, he asked God for wisdom so that he could lead the people entrusted to him.
This request pleased the Lord.
1 Kings 3:12
“Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart.”
Here again we see divine providence:
God does not abandon those whom He calls to a task.
The Calling of Jeremiah
Jeremiah the prophet experienced something similar.
Jeremiah 1:6–8
“Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.”
Jeremiah felt his own weakness and inadequacy. Yet God’s answer was the same:
“I am with thee.”
God’s calling always comes together with His presence and His providence.
God’s Providence in the New Testament
What about us who live under the New Covenant?
Our redemption came through the blood of Jesus Christ, and by faith we have become children of God.
Jesus Himself teaches us about the providence of our heavenly Father.
Matthew 6:31–33
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Jesus teaches that the kingdom of God must come first in our lives, and that we can trust in the care of our heavenly Father.
In the Old Testament, Israel entered the land of Canaan under God’s guidance. In the New Testament, however, the promises find their fulfillment in Christ, through whom we receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
The Personal Care of the Father
God’s providence is not distant or impersonal.
Jesus illustrates this beautifully:
Matthew 10:29–31
“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.”
This shows that God not only leads nations, but also cares deeply about every individual life.
Confessing Christ Before Others
Jesus also calls us to openly acknowledge Him.
Matthew 10:32–33
“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.”
This passage calls believers to boldly confess Christ before others.
A true follower of Christ does not hide his faith but openly declares Jesus as his Savior.
The Greatest Gift of Divine Providence
The greatest expression of the Father’s providence is the gospel itself.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
God’s providence ultimately finds its fulfillment in redemption through Jesus Christ, through whom we receive eternal life.
Closing Thoughts
The Bible gives many examples of people whom God called to significant tasks. Joshua, Solomon, and Jeremiah all experienced that the Lord does not abandon those whom He calls.
The same is true today. Our heavenly Father knows our lives, our needs, and our fears. His providence is revealed not only in daily care but in His greatest gift: Jesus Christ, through whom we receive forgiveness and eternal life.
Therefore the believer’s trust is not in his own strength, but in the God who promised:
“I am with you.”

Let me share 3 Scriptures that help us better understand the importance of receiving Jesus and its inevitability.
Romans 10:8 – 10
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you’re reading this today and you want to be with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in eternity, know that this verse shows you how to do it. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. In the following sections, I will guide you through how to confess all of this before our Father and our Lord Jesus.
Read this prayer out loud with faith in your heart, for what is written there is faithful and true.
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. These are the words of Jesus.
You can be born again as the Bible teaches: you need to confess
your faith. After you have been born again, say this short but very important prayer
with your loved ones, relatives, friends, and all those who believe in Jesus Christ. Because to be born again, we must confess our faith. This is what the next section is about.
Prayer for Salvation.
I believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
I believe that Jesus died for my sins,
according to the teachings of the Bible.
I believe that Jesus rose from the dead,
for my justification.
Please, Jesus, be my Lord!
Please, Jesus, be my Savior!
Please, Jesus, be my Healer!
Jesus, You are my Lord.
Jesus, You are my Savior.
Jesus, You are my Healer.
I am redeemed. I am born again in Christ.
His holy blood has cleansed me from all sins.
This is the truth, for the Word of God is truth.
Thank you, dear Jesus. Amen.
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Matthew 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

My service is not tied to a place, not located under a country or street name, and not hidden behind a phone number. I serve my Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, growing in Him day by day, being transformed from my old self to become like Christ.
